Detecting Fake Prize Letters
You get a letter claiming you have a prize waiting for you, with some more details.. The first thing to check is An official bank logo? A real legit Org? There many things to look for. I have had these and know what they look like. The letters look really legit at first but when they keep sending it you for months and claim they are waiting for you to claim your prize. It is easy to prove it a con, then. Some are genuine but most are straightforward crap.
These letters are written by expert marketers, so the words are very wisely chosen. They are very confusing and never get to the point and they come with lots of other leaflets, offers etc.
Two Things most these letters have.
-You have to purchase something to get the prize.
-You have to register to some promotion, offer or something.
Things To Generally Look Out For
-If it seems to good to be real, it probably is a fake.
-If you don’t remember entering a competition, you probably didn’t.
-No real organisation would ask you to pay to claim a prize.
-The best thing to do with this is just shred it, it might contain some personal information about you , so just as might shred it.
