In Iraq, the United States military is holding around five hundred juveniles that are suspected of unlawful enemy combatants within the detention centers within Iraq and has also around ten that are detained within Afghanistan, according to what the United States has mentioned to the United Nations.

Altogether, a total of twenty five hundred youths that are under the age of eighteen have been detained, all of which are almost in Iraq, for periods of time reaching up to a year or even more within the anti-terrorism campaign for President Bush that started during two thousand and two.

In China, there has been a three minute period of time set aside to mourn all of the victims from the massive earthquake that shook and destroyed the Sichuan province. Air sirens and horns sounded off at two twenty eight in the evening on Monday, which is exactly three weeks after the earthquake has splintered thousands of different buildings and killing an estimated fifty thousand people.

It is truly mistaken that a county can be so devastated by an act of nature that they have no control over whatsoever. To speak on this matter a little more, it has been said that global warming isn’t considered to be the blame for the recent spike in hurricanes that has taken place within the Atlantic, based on a study that has been conducted by the prominent federal scientist whose own opinion has shifted a little on the subject.

Within the Atlantic, the warmer temperatures will also reduce the actual number of hurricanes that occur within the Atlantic and those that are able to make landfall as well. Since two thousand and five when Hurricane Katrina hit, the hurricanes have been viewed as a symbol of the wrath of global warming.

Many of the climate change experts have also tied the actual rise of hurricanes within the recent years to hotter waters which fuel them and global warming. Even though there are several different theories, according to different scientists on how this works and how of this begins to take place, no one knows for certain what is going to happen.

As you can tell, May 19th, 2008 has turned into being a very hectic day all around the world. At every edge of the world you have a country that is experiencing natural disasters, you have countries that are at war and you have scientists that are trying to determine why certain things are taking place within our environment.

But above all, around the world, you have people that are thankful each and every minute for the life that they have been granted upon this earth, how ironic is that?
